Mr Neil Cripps ChM FRCS(Gen)
NPJ Cripps Surgery Limited is the company through which Mr Neil Cripps ChM FRCS(Gen) offers Colorectal, Endoscopic and General Surgical Services. Neil is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon who has been practising as a consultant since 1997, initially in the Royal Navy at The Royal Hospital Haslar and Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth and at St. Richard's Hospital, Chichester (latterly the Royal West Sussex NHS Trust) since 2000 on joining the retired list as a Surgeon Commander RN.
Although primarily a Colorectal Surgeon in training and at heart, Neil enjoys emergency general surgery too, believing that expert emergency care is one of the biggest problems facing the current NHS. One of the major challenges facing consultants today lies in maintaining a sufficiently broad experience to provide expert care when more than one bodily system is affected.
Even within Colorectal Surgery, it has been necessary (of late) to become specialised so that the latest developments can be delivered to patients when they need it. Neil's main subspecialty interests lie in bowel cancer screening, colonoscopy (and in particular therapeutic colonoscopy to allow minimally invasive treatment of large colorectal polyps) and the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer. In particular, he is experienced in the surgical management of low rectal cancer and anal cancer. In addition, he has a major interest in perianal and perineal plastic surgery for pilonidal sinus disease in particular and specialises in the management of anal fissure.
Neil's PA is Miss Anne MacAllister who is the first point of contact. Anne is a RGN who understands a great deal about the diseases we treat and is happy to have a telephone discussion about an appointment.
